Abby is a recognized National Certified Mental Health Counselor who has a passion connecting mental health and the therapeutic nature of animals. She has worked with a wide range of backgrounds, experiences, and abilities, and utilizes an integrative therapeutic modality to fit the needs of the client. Abby is a certified Canine-Assisted Intervention Specialist and is often accompanied by one of her therapy dogs (Millie or Alice) during counseling sessions. Abby embraces humor, creativity, and uniqueness, and provides a comforting place to express mental health needs and build a therapeutic relationship. Abby specializes in trauma, abuse, PTSD, anxiety, self-harm, depression, and numerous other areas.
Abby was born and raised in “small town” Iowa. She enjoys painting, camping, photography, and spending time with her furry companions. She received her undergraduate at Wartburg College, and her Master’s degree at Capella University.
