COVID-19 Update
Update September 17th, 2021
At this time the Center is requiring all individuals who enter the facility to wear a mask (regardless of vaccination status). Masks will be readily available for those who enter without a mask at the front desk. Center Associates continues to have temperature screenings and hand sanitizers will be readily available.
Update January 6, 2021
Happy New Year and our best wishes for a fantastic year in 2021. It has been a difficult 2020 but we have made it through and we will be stronger and better this year. As we look towards being healthy, we want to provide ongoing services for all during the onset of this year.
Center Associates is preparing for a hybrid model of services continuing with TELEHEALTH as well as some on-site face-to-face services. Starting the week of January 11, 2021, we will be scheduling patients on-site for therapy and medication management. If you seek a face to face appointment, please call the Center and we will accommodate this for you.
We continue our mitigation efforts. We will have temperature readings, masks will be required, hand sanitizers will be available and each room after appointments will be cleaned ready for the next appointment. Please check in at the desk downstairs and you will be directed accordingly.
Update December 14, 2020
Center Associates will continue to open and provide services via TELEHEALTH during the holidays. We are hoping to start back to face to face appointments on a limited basis Starting January 12, 2020. During the holidays, please assess and monitor your mental and emotional health. Please update your medications and get them filled before you run out. We will continue seeing people through telehealth services and be available as needed.
Please stay safe and take all measures for a healthy and blessed Holiday season. Wear a mask. Assess social distancing. Wash and sanitize hands regularly. Please take care of your health during this unprecedented time in our nation.
Update November 25, 2020
With the increase of positive COVID cases in our service area, Center Associates is moving back to "TELEHEALTH" appointments until there can be a visible sign of a decrease in numbers. Mitigation processes have been put into place at CA, yet the safety of our patients/clients and staff is imperative. Our therapy and medication services will continue to be provided via TELEHEALTH (video conferencing and/or telephone calls). Medication management will be done accordingly with our psychiatric and nursing staff monitoring it all closely. Therapy appointments will continue to occur as they are scheduled. IHS, Jail Diversion, BHIS, In-Home Family Therapy will all move to the telehealth model.
At this time, based upon the COVID numbers we are taking it 2 weeks at a time. We have found this to be less cumbersome (scheduling, rescheduling, etc...) and it still provides services to all who are in need. At this time we are looking at all TELEHEALTH through December 11, 2020. We will reconsider on-site appointments starting December 14, 2020 UNLESS otherwise noted. As COVID increases, CA staff (clinical and support) have also been impacted personally with COVID. This has caused challenges of scheduling and rescheduling individuals for services. Thank you for your flexibility during this unprecedented times in our world.
CA urges you to follow all steps necessary as deemed by CDC and Iowa Public Health Department regarding COVID symptoms and management of all symptoms. Please wear a mask. Sanitize and wash hands. Monitor physical distancing. Assess any and all symptoms. Please take care of self and your loved ones.
Happy Thanksgiving 2020.
Update August 2020
As we maneuver through COVID19, we are continuously evaluating and reevaluating all processes regarding mental health services to our patients/clients. We continue to be available to you through in person appointments and telehealth. We continue to follow IDPH and CDC guidelines regarding social distancing, symptoms check, and mask usage.
As the fall season approaches, schools will begin educational services and the Center will continue to meet needs as deemed appropriate through school based mental health services.
Derecho storm impacted our entire catchment area. Individuals and families have been impacted and the short term rebuilding and cleaning up will be done. During this time of transitions, continue to assess mental and emotional health symptoms for all people in the family.
Update June 19, 2020
CA has continued to monitor State and Federal guidelines regarding the reopening for face to face visits in the building. We continue to test the process and identify a success flow to patient care. We are in the process of slowly bringing back clinicians in various phases. At this time, the Governor's proclamation will end on June 24th unless it is extended. Many insurance companies also continue to modify their telehealth policies regarding deadlines. Some end in June, July and August; some in December 2020; some in February 2021.
At this time, we are slowly following the guidelines and opening up for business. We are hoping to do a blended for of service delivery with some patients coming to CA offices and others still benefiting from TELEHEALTH (video and phone conferencing). We will continue to communicate with you as to best meet your needs.
Please be flexible. We will continue to adhere to CDC guidelines with social distancing, wearing a mask, hand sanitizer, screening questions, etc... IF you are symptomatic, please stay home and we can ALWAYS reschedule.
Update - May 18, 2020
CA continue to provide services via TELEHEALTH. At this time, the public health emergency is still in place and we will adhere to the requirements. We continue to prepare for the onsite visits which we hope will occur once the PHE is lifted. At this time, CA continues to monitor all regulations in preparation for face to face visits. Please stay tuned.
Update - April 22, 2020
Center Associates is continuing to help individuals and families throughout our region. Clinical staff are remotely working through TELEHEALTH to connect with clients/patients. This process has been well received and there is good outcomes continuing to take place. Social distancing has not caused the Center to be absent from you. We are still connecting and want to connect with you. The modality of TELEHEALTH has helped clinicians make "home visits" to help you manage and get through these challenging days of COVID-19.
The question is asked when will Center Associates "re-open" for on-site services. At this time, we are following city, state and federal guidelines to assess what the needs are and how to proceed forward. We are aware that mental and emotional health are "essential" services and we will keep our virtual doors open for all. We continue to look ahead when "re-entry" for face-to-face services can begin. When are are given the "green light" to move forward, we will let all know.
Continue to follow the protocols set within your city and state regarding staying at home, social distancing, wearing a mask, washing hands, etc... If symptoms are present, please follow medical procedures to manage the symptoms.

Update - April 8, 2020
Center Associates is fully virtual for all our services. The medication providers, counselors, IHS, BHIS and JD providers continue to socially connect with our clients/patients through video and/or phone conferencing. It has been very successful and we will continue to provide this service until there has been a modification or revision from CDC, IDPH and other health professionals. The video conferencing through Doxy.Me has worked well for most of our providers and clients/patients. There are times due to internet connections, there might be a lag but if problems exist, a phone call can be made to connect as well. The number calling might say "restricted, blocked" but go ahead and answer as it might be staff from Center Associates.
At this time, we are looking at moving our social distancing date back to April 30, 2020. We will continue to meet the mental and emotional health needs of all through telecommunication. On-site appointments will not take place due to the requirements set forth. Appointments are available for therapy within one to two days. If you are experiencing challenges and your coping skills have been compromised, reach out to us and we can get you set up as soon as possible. Call us at 641.752.1585 or email us at info@centerassoc.com
This is a crisis time and your mental hygiene is very important to manage. Just as important as washing your hands with soap and using hand sanitizer, it is imperative to disinfect our thoughts. Do not let your emotions hijack your rationality to plan and process your thoughts. This disconnect drives fear and interferes with your ability to make good decision-making.

We have been monitoring the information about the Coronavirus and making sure protocols are in place with Center Associates. We value the safety, security and wellness of all our patients and our staff. We been in constant communication with other medical clinics to mental health centers like ours to see what processes and protocols they are following. At this time, Governor Reynolds' Proclamation, Iowa Department of Public Health, CDC, WHO and local health agencies continue to drive decisions for our wellbeing. If local, state and national health organizations give us information that would warrant further actions, Center Associates will follow protocols and provide the needed safety measures for all. Please continue to consult the Iowa Department of Public Health website as well as http://www.211.org/. Please stay informed. Continue to check our website for updates.
Here are some basic steps to resist illness offered by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention:
- Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds (sing the “Happy Birthday” song twice). If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 70% alcohol.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
- Stay home when you are sick.
- Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands) when coughing or sneezing. If you use a tissue, throw it in the trash, then wash or sanitize your hands.
- Routinely clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
COVID UPDATE (October 2020) - The surge or second/third wave of COVID is noted in our state and in our communities. Please adhere to the EVER-CHANGING suggestions/recommendations by CDC, Iowa Public Health and local public health officials. Here is the link to CDC for all and latest updates - https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html
CA has had it's share of staff who have experienced symptoms. It is a case by case issue. Some have all symptoms; others cannot taste; some cough and have fever; some feel achy and the list goes on. Now, the flu season is also here. Allergy season with the frost is slowing departing. Please take care of you.
If you are seeking services, we would highly encourage MASK wearing, physical distancing and sanitizing while you are in the building. The Center staff is working to assure that your appointment will go undisturbed without having to worry about contamination. Our hope is that you will take all precautionary methods to help us as well. We continue to offer on-site appointments but also are willing to do TELEHEALTH with you... Let the provider know or front desk staff know your desire.
Here is a video that created by CSS Region on our Hope Is Not Canceled Campaign. Hope is alive and well. CA staff are willing to help you find that hope again.
